The digital project 2minkunst.de questions how the smartphone can be used as a 21st century picture frame to view art far away from museums or galleries. Based on Exhibiting the Exhibition by the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden, 11 chapters offer answers in 2 minutes each.
The major special exhibition of the state of Baden-Württemberg at the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden in spring 2018 deals with exhibiting itself. It explores what it actually means to exhibit something exhibiting something and how it is possible to show what exhibiting means.
Exhibiting the Exhibition looks back to the past, to the present and today and thus also conveys an outlook into the future of exhibiting. The show takes its starting point from the precursors of modern museums and ends with current curatorial situations. It brings together several hundred works and shows how objects were presented in early art chambers, for example, what forms of display emerged in the 20th century and how art is presented today.
