In 2025, the Artists’ Association of Baden-Württemberg celebrates its 70th anniversary – at the very place where it all began. The association was founded in Karlsruhe in February 1955 and held its first exhibition that same spring at the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden.

Today, the Artists’ Association brings together around 450 artists of different generations and positions, working to strengthen the visibility and support of artists while fostering an encouraging environment for independent art.

On the occasion of this anniversary, the Artists’ Association and the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden invite you to a half-day moderated symposium on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 2:00 – 6:00 pm: WHO SUSTAINS ART – AND WHERE IS IT HEADING?

The event takes place within the exhibition 70 Years of the Artists’ Association of Baden-Württemberg, on view at the Kunsthalle from October 10, 2025, to January 11, 2026.
